The wait is finally over for football lovers in Osun State as the 2026 Oriade Pre-Season Football Tournament officially kicks off today, Monday, March 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
The tournament, taking place at the Osogbo Grammar School (OSHO) Football Pitch in Osogbo, is designed to serve as a premier scouting and preparatory platform for clubs ahead of the upcoming Nationwide League One (NLO) season, which is scheduled to commence nationwide in April.
Over the next few days, the Osogbo Grammar School grounds will host more than ten elite grassroots/NLO teams from the Southwest region of Nigeria. The participating teams have been drawn into four competitive groups and will battle for the prestigious pre-season trophy.
Beyond the race for silverware, the tournament is structured to provide clubs with a competitive environment to assess tactical depth, evaluate players’ fitness levels, and integrate new signings ahead of the demanding NLO campaign.
