While participation was commendable, stakeholders emphasized the need for increased institutional and financial support to further elevate the scale and competitiveness of future editions.

The event was conducted on a well-organized closed circuit, featuring clearly defined start and finish points. Adequate safety measures, including effective crowd control, functional barricades, and efficient traffic management, ensured a secure and seamless experience for both athletes and spectators.

Speaking on the team’s success, the General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, Mr. Ademola Daini, lauded the consistent support of the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. He noted that the administration’s commitment to sports development—facilitated through the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports, Prince Kolawole Adewusi—has significantly enhanced athlete morale and performance across the state.

“The Governor’s vision that every sport matters continues to inspire our athletes to excel and represent Osun State with pride at all levels,” Daini stated.

Similarly, Coach Akande Kehinde Semiu dedicated the team’s achievements to Governor Adeleke, expressing appreciation for the administration’s sustained investment in sports. He described the Governor as a steadfast pillar of support and emphasized that the team’s recent successes are a direct reflection of the renewed focus on sports development within the state.

He further observed that although the cycling competition has been in existence for several years, Osun State’s recent participation and remarkable performance underscore the positive impact of the current administration’s proactive approach to sports.

The team’s achievements at the Lapet Feat 6th Cycling Competition represent yet another milestone in Osun State’s ongoing efforts to nurture talent and promote excellence across multiple sporting disciplines.
