With just 12 days to the commencement of the 3rd National Para Games, the Abuja 2026 Local Organising Committee has confirmed that all designated competition venues across the Federal Capital Territory are fully prepared to host athletes from across the country for Nigeria’s premier multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities.

According to the official Games venue plan, the iconic Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja will serve as the central hub for the competition, hosting the majority of the sporting events.
Scheduled to take place within the stadium complex are Para Athletics at the Main Bowl, while indoor facilities across Packages A and B will host Para Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball, Para Taekwondo, Para Table Tennis, Para Badminton, and Wheelchair Tennis.

Additional events within the stadium complex will utilize specialized facilities, including Para Swimming at the Swimming Pool Complex, Para Cycling and Para Karate at the Velodrome, and Para Shooting at the stadium’s shooting range.
Beyond the stadium complex, other key venues have also been designated to ensure world-class competition environments. Para Canoeing will be staged at the scenic Jabi Lake, while Amputee Football matches will be held at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch.
The 3rd National Para Games Abuja 2026 will bring together thousands of athletes representing the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, celebrating resilience, excellence, and the spirit of inclusivity through sport.
The Games continue to serve as a vital platform for talent discovery, athlete development, and the strengthening of Nigeria’s standing in global para-sports.
