President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons following their dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over hosts Morocco to clinch the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title—their historic 10th continental crown.

In a video call shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, President Tinubu spoke directly with the triumphant squad, applauding their bravery, unity, and fighting spirit.

“I just spoke with our Super Falcons,” the President wrote alongside the video.
“On behalf of all Nigerians—at home, in Morocco, and around the world—I told them how proud we are. They have lifted our spirits with their brilliance, resilience, and unity.
We are very, very happy. I look forward to welcoming them home soon.”

Earlier, the President had posted a celebratory message shortly after the final whistle, declaring:

“They chose to accept this mission.
They understood the assignment.
Our Superior Super Falcons delivered in true Nigerian fashion. Never say Never.
They went. They saw. They have conquered again!

Second-half goals from Uchenna Kanu, Asisat Oshoala, and a late winner from Jennifer Echegini, who finished off an Esther Okoronkwo free-kick in the 87th minute, sealed a stunning 3-2 comeback win over the Atlas Lionesses.

The victory not only marks Nigeria’s return to the top of African women’s football but also earned high praise from the highest level of leadership, with President Tinubu joining millions of Nigerians in celebrating the Falcons’ excellence and unwavering spirit.
