The maiden edition of the Brown 2-Day Scouting Programme has reached its decisive stage after an electrifying opening day that witnessed grassroots football at its finest at the Osogbo Grammar School football pitch.

The scouting program, organized by Brown Football Agency in collaboration with Oriade Football Club, features four teams, including three Osun-based Nationwide League One (NLO) sides — Oriade FC, ASE Ridyem FC, and Alaska FC — alongside Kamal FC, the only non-league team in the tournament.

Day One of the programme witnessed two intense encounters. Oriade FC battled Coach Azeez Azular Adekunle ‘s ASE Ridyem FC, to a goalless draw, while Alaska FC shared the spoils with coach Shaun Michael’s Kamal FC in a 1–1 draw.

To celebrate outstanding individual performances, Man of the Match awards, sponsored by NIYAZBAM Consultancy, were presented to two standout players from Tuesday’s fixtures.

Hostilities resumes today, Wednesday, October 1, as the tournament enters its final day. ASE Ridyem FC will square off against Kamal FC at exactly 12:00 p.m., followed by a highly anticipated clash between Oriade FC and Alaska FC, both teams that share the same pitch as their home ground.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Mr. Fikayo Olanrewaju, President of Oriade FC and a key collaborator of the scouting tournament, emphasized that the programme is designed to assess players’ abilities and create pathways for career advancement.

“This is the first edition in Osun State, and we are committed to building on this foundation by bringing more programmes like this to encourage youth development and promote talented players to greater levels of success,” Mr. Olanrewaju stated.

The Brown 2-Day Scouting Programme has already begun to make its mark, offering young footballers in Osun State a valuable platform to display their skills and attract opportunities for growth in the game. Hopefully, this scouting tournament can fish out the next Kanus and Okochas.
