…Kits, Venue Branding

The Nationwide League One (NLO), has informed Division One and U-19 Youth League clubs of three core requirements they need to comply with ahead the commencement of the 2025/26 season.

In a correspondence signed by its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr. Olushola Ogunnowo, to its affiliated clubs in all states.the NLO Secretariat reminded clubs of the exciting decision to resume league matches in the traditional home and away format, effective from the upcoming 2026 season.

The return to the classic structure marks a significant step forward in restoring the full spirit and competitiveness of the division, following any previous adjustments necessitated by external circumstances.

As teams gear up for the upcoming season, the Nationwide League One (NLO) Secretariat is committed to enhancing the professional standards and visual identity of the league.

To ensure a seamless registration process and high-quality broadcast/matchday presentation, all clubs are hereby requested to comply with the following requirements.

To modernize our administrative workflow, all clubs are now mandated to submit their player and official licenses independently. This transition to a self-submission model is designed to eliminate third-party errors, enhance data security, and provide clubs with real-time oversight of their registration status. Direct submission ensures that the information on the license is exactly what the club intended, reducing the risk of eligibility disputes during the season.

To avoid color clashes and maintain professional aesthetics, every club must provide details and samples (or high-resolution images) of three (3) distinct sets of jerseys.
The
Home Kit, the club’s primary traditional colors.
Away Kit- a set clearly contrasting with the home colors, while the
Alternative (Third) Kit, a neutral or distinct secondary option to be used when both primary kits clashes with that of an opponent.

Clubs are to take note that Permanent Kits for each player, must be for the duration of the season. While each must be assigned a specific shirt number that remains consistent across all three kits. This ensures consistency for match officials, commentators, and fans.

To improve the commercial value of match venues, every club is required to have branded perimeter panels for their designated home pitch. These panels should display the club’s identity and any local partners, contributing to a standardized and professional look during match days.

Furthermore, the NLO has appealed to clubs that all documentation and kit designs must be submitted to the Secretariat no later than March 15th, 2026.
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in delays in registration or sanctions as per the NLO framework.
