Choosing venues across all six geopolitical zones for the 4×4 championship underscores the Handball Federation of Nigeria’s commitment to expanding the sport’s footprint beyond traditional urban centres while unearthing raw talent nationwide. More importantly, this championship provides a competitive bridge for developmental squads and fringe players looking to secure a berth in top-flight national competitions.

The crown jewel of the HFN domestic calendar, the flagship 2026 Men and Women Handball Premier League, will take center stage in the nation’s capital. Promised to “go with a bang,” the apex league will feature the elite male and female handball clubs in Nigeria — including powerhouse men’s teams such as Safety Shooters, Sokoto Rima, COAS Shooters, Niger United, Correction Boys, Osun United, Tojemarine Academy and Kano Pillars, alongside top women’s sides like Safety Babes, Defender Babes, Rivers Queens, Plateau Peacocks, SOOF and Rima Queens — all battling in an exciting multi-week, round-robin format expected to further elevate the profile and competitiveness of handball in the country.
Matches will be hosted at the Indoor Sports Hall (Package B) of the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
