The President of the Nigerian Basketball Federation, Engr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to uphold the virtues of empathy, love, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
Kida, who also serves as Chairman of the , called on Nigerians to use the spiritual significance of Eid-el-Kabir as an opportunity to pray for national peace, stability, and progress.
In his goodwill message, the basketball administrator emphasized the importance of remaining steadfast in faith and optimistic about the future of the country despite prevailing socio-economic challenges.
“Another Eid-el-Kabir is here. We thank God for the opportunity to celebrate this festival, and as Muslims, we should remain steadfast in prayer for a more peaceful country and a better world,” Kida stated.
He further appealed to Nigerians to continue promoting harmony and national unity irrespective of ethnic, religious, or political differences.
“As Nigerians and citizens of this great country, we must continue to show love, empathy, unity, and peaceful coexistence amongst ourselves,” he added.
Kida also expressed confidence in the positive direction of the nation under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President , noting that current government policies are beginning to show encouraging signs for a better and more prosperous Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, allowing Muslims across the country to observe one of Islam’s most significant festivals with prayers and festivities.
