President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Board of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Engineer Ahmadu Musa Kida, on the occasion of his 65th birthday, describing him as a distinguished professional whose career has helped shape Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Kida’s remarkable service across both the public and private sectors, noting his long-standing commitment to national development and professional excellence.
President Tinubu recalled that Kida, who also doubles as the President Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) began his career in the Nigerian oil industry in 1985 with Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited, now Total Exploration and Production Nigeria (TEPNG), where he built a reputation as an outstanding professional and played a key role in the sector’s growth over the decades.
The President also acknowledged Kida’s contributions beyond the energy sector, particularly his active involvement in professional basketball, which reflects his passion for youth development and sports administration in Nigeria.
Commending his current role as Board Chairman of NNPC Limited, President Tinubu noted that Kida has been instrumental in repositioning the national oil company and driving improved revenue performance in line with the Federal Government’s vision for the oil and gas sector.
As he marked the milestone birthday, President Tinubu urged the NNPC board chairman to continue his selfless service to the nation and wished him many more years of good health, fulfillment and impactful leadership.
