The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, mni, today received the Ardova Premier Handball League trophies won by the FRSC men’s and women’s handball teams — the Safety Shooters and Safety Babes — after a dominant showing in the 2025 Ardova Premier Handball League season.
In a short ceremony at the Corps headquarters, Mr. Mohammed commended the teams for their discipline, teamwork and professionalism, saying the victories brought honour to the Corps and exemplified its capacity beyond road safety operations.
The Safety Babes completed an outstanding campaign in the women’s competition, closing the season with a near-perfect record and a commanding goal difference, a run that has been widely reported as a record-breaking fifth consecutive women’s title for the side.
On the men’s side, the Safety Shooters finished the season in emphatic style, including a convincing 43–32 victory over the COAS Shooters in the Phase-2 finale, a performance that secured the men’s crown and capped a campaign marked by attacking firepower and defensive resilience. Media coverage of the league highlighted the FRSC double as one of the standout stories of the 2025 Ardova Premier League.
While congratulating the athletes and technical staff, the Corps Marshal used the occasion to urge officers and marshals across the country to sustain the spirit of excellence, resilience and healthy competition demonstrated by the teams. He described the victories as “a clear reflection of the commitment, teamwork and professionalism that define the FRSC beyond road safety operations,” and reaffirmed the Corps’ resolve to continue supporting initiatives that promote physical fitness, unity and positive representation of the organisation at all levels.
