Newly established Shoglo Football Academy, Osogbo, has appointed experienced grassroots football coach Adekunle Azeez Azular as its Head Coach, as the academy begins its ambition to develop young footballers and create professional pathways for emerging talents.
The deal was negotiated between OFC Sports Management Ltd and Shoglo Football Academy. OFC Sports Management Ltd is the official representative of Coach Azular and manages his professional coaching career, including career representation, contract negotiations, professional guidance and identification of opportunities for his continued career advancement.
Azeez Azular Adekunle joins Shoglo after working with Crown FC of Ogbomoso in the Nigeria National League (NNL). He has also handled Olansile FC, Police FC, HMK FC, ASE Ridyem FC and, most recently, Oriade FC, building considerable experience within Nigeria’s grassroots and lower-league football system.
His reputation, however, extends beyond results. Azular is particularly recognised for his ability to identify, develop and improve young players. During his time with ASE Ridyem FC, for instance, he handed 14-year-old goalkeeper Ridwan Kazeem an opportunity in the NLO, with the youngster subsequently producing impressive performances, including consecutive penalty saves and clean sheets.
Speaking on the agreement, OFC Sports Management Ltd CEO, Olansile Suleiman, expressed his excitement over the partnership, describing Azular as an outstanding coach whose results speak for themselves. He emphasised that the coach’s greatest strength is his ability to develop grassroots players, noting that several players who have worked under him are now progressing successfully at higher levels of the game.
Azular’s appointment represents a significant step for Shoglo Football Academy, which specialises in player development and football marketing. With an experienced developer of young talents now leading its technical department, the academy is positioning itself to provide promising footballers with structured training, education and opportunities to progress into professional football in Nigeria and beyond.
The development further highlights the growing portfolio of OFC Sports Management Ltd, which, in addition to representing Coach Azular, is also the official representative of newly acquired Bendel Insurance FC centre-back Olamilekan Gabriel.
