Hammola International Football Club hosted its historic “Hammola: Echo of Victory!” celebration yesterday at the Ido-Osun residence of club president Odeyemi Muhydeen Oladele (Odhelee), marking the team’s promotion from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The event opened with thanksgiving prayers led by Muslim clerics, followed by lively entertainment, generous refreshments, and the presentation of awards honouring individuals whose dedication, talent, and leadership were pivotal to the club’s success:
Player of the Year – Ganiyu Maruf Agbolahan: Recognised for exceptional consistency, match-winning performances, and unwavering commitment on and off the pitch.
Young Player of the Year – Hamzat Sherif: Honoured for promising talent, discipline, and representing a bright future for Hammola FC.
Coach of the Year – Coach Jamiu Mudathir: Celebrated for tactical brilliance, inspirational leadership, and turning challenges into victories.
Management of the Year – Coach Adebisi Olawale (Adola): Acknowledged for organisational skill, resource management, and providing the strategic backbone of the club’s success.
“These awards not only celebrate personal excellence but also embody the resilience, unity, and triumph that define Hammola FC,” the club said in a statement. “The achievements of these honourees serve as an enduring inspiration to teammates, supporters, and the wider football community.”
Present at the occasion were football stakeholders, partners, journalists, players, fans, family and friends.
In his remarks, President Odeleye Muyideen thanked football stakeholders, partners, fans, and well-wishers for their unwavering support throughout the campaign:
“This achievement belongs to everyone who believed in us, stood by us through challenges, and celebrated with us in triumph. From the players and coaches to our fans and partners, your collective effort made this possible.”
Hammola sealed their NNL promotion by topping their playoff group with a 3–1 victory over Karim Adeyemi FC at Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, finishing with six points and joining Stormers FC, E-World FC and Ikorodu City FA as Southern Conference qualifiers for the 2025/26 NNL season.
